Course

This 16-hour course includes a mixture of classroom discussion, skills practice and scenario-based learning. The goal of this course is to help students develop the skills necessary to treat patients in an outdoor or remote setting, and to exercise appropriate decision-making when considering long-term care and/or evacuation of a patient.

Course curriculum includes:
-Patient evaluation
-Environmental injuries
-Bleeding control
-Backcountry medical emergencies
-Treatment of breaks and sprains
-Hypothermia Treatment
-Building a proper wilderness first aid kit

Upon successful completion of this course students will receive an internationally recognized ECSI certification in Wilderness First Aid.

In order to participate in this course, students must be 16 years of age or older.
