Pet First Aid
Course:
This 5-hour course includes a mixture of classroom discussion, skills practice and scenario-based learning. The goal of this course is to help students develop the skills necessary to perform potentially lifesaving first aid on pets in an urban or remote setting.
Course curriculum includes:
Pet CPR
Proper Emergency Muzzling Techniques
Bleeding control
Poisoning and envenomation
Emergency transport
Recognizing and treating hypothermia and heat stoke
Disaster preparedness
Preparing for an outdoor adventure with your pet
Building a proper pet first aid kit for your adventures
Upon successful completion of this course students will receive an internationally recognized ECSI certification in Pet First Aid and Disaster Response.
Note: Pet mannequins will be provided for all training and exercises. Please, do not bring your pet to class.
